At Wisdom Dentistry we support the MEDICARE CDBS.
The new CDBS began on January 1st. 2014. The scheme entitles eligible children between the ages of 2 and 17 years to a $1,000.00 dental benefit to be used over a 2 year period. The scheme has been created to provide regular dental examinations and routine dental procedures.
To be eligible for CDBS treatment there is a means test, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A) or a relevant Australian Government payment. If you are unsure whether your children may be eligible for CDBS cover, we suggest you contact Human Services directly on 132 011.
If your child is eligible the following services are available:
Some dental treatments are NOT covered e.g. custom-fitted sports mouthguards.
At Wisdom Dentistry we have decided to support this excellent preventive scheme by charging the Medicare scale of fees. This means there will be no out of pocket costs for the majority of children or teens. A “gap” payment will only be payable if your child’s treatment exceeds the $1,000.00 limit over a 2 year period or if treatment is not covered by the scheme.
All eligible treatment is billed directly to Medicare.
You can check your eligibility, or your available balance before attending an appointment by calling Human Services on 132 150.
